Nigeria striker Gift Orban has found himself at the centre of controversy after a confrontation with a supporter in Verona, which is in the region of Veneto Italy.
The former Lyon forward, who is currently on loan at Serie A club Hellas Verona from German side TSG Hoffenheim, was involved in an incident that escalated after he refused to stop for photos after a match.
Witnesses say tensions rose when a supporter struck Orban’s car which led to a heated reaction from the player and a physical altercation on the street.
Video footage shared on X shows Orban in a chaotic scuffle, surrounded by several people before a passerby stepped in to calm the situation.
The dramatic incident is said to have taken place shortly after Verona’s 1-0 defeat to AC Milan on Sunday, a result that appeared to leave the striker frustrated.
