Head coach of Nigerian outfit Remo Stars, Daniel Ogunmodede Precious has described their highly-anticipated encounter against Medeama SC as a derby and added they will hope for a positive results in Ghana before the second leg on home soil.
The Mauves and Yellows will cross swords with the Sky Blue Stars in the first preliminary round of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League season and will definitely set sights on at least cruising above this round.
The first leg will be held in Ghana this weekend and will leave for the return encounter in a week time in Sagamu in the Ogun State.
Remo Stars gaffer Daniel Ogunmodede in an interview stated that, they will offer all they could to ensure they secure a good results especially in a tie that will add up to the long standing football rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria.
"Football is not a do or die affair, but it is normal in football. You can imagine Man City and Manchester United playing in the same Manchester, so is always like this, it is a derby, so Ghana and Nigeria countries from the same West Africa region, the rivalry is normal," Ogunmodede told Ghanasportspage.com
"For us we will do everything possible to get a positive result to make our fans happy. We also want to make the game worthy of watching for our fans too", he concluded.
Remo Stars FC are expected in the course of the week and will surely arrive on time for quick acclimatization with no complications before the game, especially when both countries have similar weather.
The first leg is scheduled for this Sunday, August 20, at the Cape Coast Stadium.
