Sudan head coach, James Kwesi Appiah says they have just one focus at the moment and that’s to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The experienced gaffer edged his own country Ghana to qualify for the continent’s biggest showpiece having advanced alongside winners Angola in Group F during the qualifying round.

Recently, the Falcons of Jediane participated in the FIFA Arab Cup that were just finished today but failed to make it out of the group phase with a draw and two loses in three matches.

Despite the disappointing campaign in Qatar, the 1970 African champions will use it to identify all blemishes in their team to right all wrongs and strengthen themselves before the AFCON which commences this weekend.

Speaking in an interview, the ex- Al Khartoum coach says Sudan ain’t just coming up to add to numbers in Morocco but are there to mainly win the competition - something he sees very possible and strongly believe it can happen again

“The goal is just not to participate but to fight for the trophy. I believe with the right mentality, we can achieve it. There’s no point in going to competition if you don’t aim to win.”

Sudan will kickstart their 2025 AFCON campaign on December 24, against the Desert Foxes of Algeria.
