In response to Kenya's readiness to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Uganda and Tanzania, President William Ruto assured they will be ready to host the continental showpiece.



Ruto was speaking after holding a meeting with Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe at State House Nairobi. Mostsepe expressed satisfaction with the preparations of the tournament.



Others in attendance were Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Sports Kipchumba Murkomen and Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa.



“Kenya will be ready to co-host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in 2027. The preparations of our three stadiums – renovation of Kasarani and Nyayo and construction of the brand new Talanta Sports City Stadium – are progressing well," Ruto stated.



“We commit that Kasarani and Nyayo will be ready by the end of this year for African Nations Championships (CHAN) 2025, while Talanta Sports City Stadium will be completed by December 2025 for AFCON 2027.”
