Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex, has underscored the significant benefits of participating in the CAF Champions League for his team.

The Timber Giants are making their debut in this prestigious African competition after clinching the Ghanaian Premier League title.

Following their successful progression past Victoria United in the preliminary round, Dr. Nsenkyire highlighted how competing at this level has provided valuable exposure for the players.

"Playing in Africa has given the players exposure. It's our first time, but we know that participating in the CAF Champions League or the Confederation Cup offers that unique experience," he stated in an interview with Asempa FM.

Additionally, Dr. Nsenkyire revealed that the club has turned down several offers for key players, emphasizing their commitment to the ongoing tournament. "We have received offers for some of the players, but we are playing in a tournament and need our quality players to stay," he explained.

In the first leg of the second round of qualifiers, FC Samartex held Raja Casablanca to a 2-2 draw at Accra Sports Stadium. They are set to face the Moroccan side again on Saturday, September 21, at Stade Larbi Zaouli in the crucial return leg.
