FC Porto have announced left-back Zaidu Sanusi will undergo anterior cruciate ligament and the external lateral ligament surgery to resolve a recent left knee issue.
The Nigeria international was put into action against Estrela Da Amadora after representing the Super Eagles at the just ended 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. Força, Zaidu 💪
After suffering a complete rupture of his left knee in the 31st minute, Zaidu was substituted by Mexican defender Jorge Sanchez.
The Nigeria international will go under the knife in the coming days and will likely be out of action for a considerable amount of time due to the prolonged injury.
A statement on Porto's official website read: “Stay strong, Zaidu. The Nigerian international has a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and the external lateral ligament of his left knee."
