Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum is not surprised by Richmond Lamptey's inclusion in the Black Stars AFCON 2023 squad.
The Porcupine Warriors lynchpin who has been the club's best performer made the cut in Ghana's 27-man roster for the continental showpiece in Ivory Coast later this month.
Ogum believes that Lamptey's Ghana call-up was not surprising, saying he has been rewarded for his “hard work”.
"Your dedication, hard work, discipline, and passion to play and excel at the top level have paid off! Congratulations, Nii! YOU ARE THE MAN!," he wrote on X.
The AFCON has been slated to kickoff from January 13 through to February 11, 2024, with Ghana being drawn in Group B, where they will face Egypt, Mozambique, and Cape Verde.
