The Sudan Football Association (SFA) have contacted James Kwesi Appiah for their national team job, per exclusive reports in the local media.

The last time the 62 year old actively held a coaching role was from the period of 2017-2020 and has since then been unattached.

He was just recently named the Technical Director for second division side Kenpong Academy but is still part of the coaches to have applied for the Black Stars job, despite enjoying two spells with the senior national team already.

Speculations has it, the Sudan FA are in direct negotiations with coach Kwesi Appiah to become the new head of their senior national team despite still having Burhan Tia at post.

The ex- Black Stars captain has been in Sudan before and spent three years with topflight side Al Khartoum leading them from 2014-2017.

He spent two years in his first coming with the Black Stars where he qualified the team to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil- making him the first home-based coach to achieve that.
