Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has completed a lucrative move to Rwandan Premier League side APR FC, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal until 2026.

The 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder joins APR FC after failing to agree a contract extension with Asante Kotoko, where he spent three years and won the Premier League title in his debut season.

The move is seen as a major coup for APR FC, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

As part of the deal, Lamptey will receive a $130,000 signing-on fee and a monthly salary of $8,000 to $10,000. He will also enjoy the use of a free car and a free apartment.

During his time at Kotoko, Lamptey made 68 league appearances, scoring four goals and providing 10 assists.

The midfielder was part of Ghana's squad for the 2024 AFCON in Côte d'Ivoire, and is seen as a valuable addition to APR FC's squad.
