Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has been installed as the clear favourite to take over as the new Wales boss following Rob Page's dismissal last week.

Page was relieved of his duties on Friday, with his departure coming on the back of a desperately poor international double-header that saw Wales held to a goalless draw by minnows Gibraltar, before being thumped by Slovakia.

The failure to qualify for Euro 2024 was also clearly a factor in the Football Association of Wales's (FAW) decision, and attention is now focused on the search for a successor.

Craig Bellamy has emerged as the favourite to become the next Wales manager following Rob Page's dismissal.

However, in a twist of events, the Odds on Craig Bellamy have been slashed with Henry emerging as the clear bookies' favourite as it stands now.

Bellamy was actually interviewed for the job before FAW chiefs opted for Ryan Giggs, and is understood to have put forward an impressive pitch for the role before missing out to the Manchester United legend.

Interestingly, and despite reports linking him with a return, Giggs is not considered a serious contender this time around.

Thierry Henry, who gained his coaching badges here in Wales, is next at 8/1. Were he to be appointed, he would be the first non-Welsh manager to take the job in more than 20 years.

Cameron Toshack, Mark Hughes, and Sam Allardyce are all priced at 12/1, the latter recently doubling down on his assertion that he'd be interested in taking the job.
