The 20-year-old much anticipated transfer switch to the Czech Republic giants is now hanging in the balance as a results of medical complications

Ghanaian youngster Douglas Owusu potential transfer move to Czech First League club Viktoria Plzeň is on the verge of collapsing given his fitness issues over his kneel, an emerging report from the Czech Republic media has indicated.

Report was rife recently that an agreement between Red Star Belgrade and Viktoria Plzeň had been reached over the transfer of the former FK Radnik Surdulica nimble left-footed winger in a deal worth 4.3 million ahead of the forthcoming summer transfer window.

According to Czech Republic tabloid Newspaper DENIK SPORTa knee issue had been detected in Owusu's mandatory medical examinations and that could end his pursuit by those in charge of recruitment at the Doosan Arena for the 2026/27 season.

Should the deal fail to materialise, Red Star Belgrade would be greatly disappointed considering the transfer fee involved over the deal with their league rivals.

Owusu made 33 appearances by scoring 9 goals and assisted 1 across all competitions in the just concluded 2025/26 football season.
