Crystal Palace have sent their congratulations to academy product Jesurun Rak-Sakyi after he made his first appearance for Ghana’s senior national team.
The 23-year-old winger lined up for the Black Stars in their 2-0 friendly loss to Mexico. The pre-World Cup friendly was held at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla.
“Congratulations to Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on earning his senior debut for Ghana,” the Premier League side said in a statement.
Palace praised the youngster’s big moment on the international stage and ended with, “Well done, Jes!”
Rak-Sakyi started the game under head coach Carlos Queiroz and was on the pitch for 66 minutes. He came close to marking his debut with a goal early in the second half.
“He was inches away from scoring just after the restart when his powerful strike hit the crossbar,” Palace noted.

The London-born forward wrapped up a loan spell at Stoke City recently before deciding to represent Ghana internationally.
His debut arrives at a key time as players fight for places ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will play Wales in one last warm-up before Queiroz names his final 26-man squad. At the tournament, the Black Stars face Panama, England, and Croatia in the group stage.
