Samartex attacker Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli has expressed his team's determination to make a significant impact in their debut CAF Champions League campaign.
After clinching the Ghana Premier League title, dethroning Medeama, the Timber Giants are set to embark on their maiden journey in Africa's elite club competition.
Their first challenge will be against Victoria United in Cameroon on August 18, followed by the return leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on August 25, 2024.
Mankuyeli shared the team's ambitions on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating, "We are the Ghana Premier League champions and want to make a positive impression in the CAF Champions League. As debutants, we are working harder to ensure we go far in this competition, firstly by being victors in the 1st preliminary round."
Samartex is focused on making a mark in the competition, with their sights set on advancing beyond the preliminary rounds.
The winner of their tie with Victoria United will progress to the second preliminary round, where they could face Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic for a spot in the group stages.
