Al Ahly, Africa's most successful club, is reportedly expressing interest in Medeama forward Jonathan Sowah.
The Black Stars striker has allegedly attracted attention from two other prominent clubs on the continent: Mamelodi Sundowns and Pyramids FC.
Sowah recently played a crucial role in Medeama's 3-0 defeat to Ahly during their CAF Champions League group stage opener on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Despite the loss, his performance in the game reportedly caught the eye, even though he did not score.
The 24-year-old striker had a breakthrough season in the previous campaign, contributing significantly to Medeama's title triumph. He had an impressive run, scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances, earning him a call-up to the Black Stars.
In the current season, Sowah has continued his goal-scoring form, tallying 8 goals in 13 games across all competitions. He made his debut for the Black Stars in a friendly against Liberia, assisting Jordan Ayew in a 3-1 victory. His second appearance was in a competitive match, a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November 2023.
