Nigerian Super Eagles B head coach, Salisu Yusuf has described the penalty awarded against them as a harsh one in their defeat to Ghana over the weekend in the 2023 CHAN qualifiers
The Black Galaxies humbled Nigeria's home-based national team by a resounding 2-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium last Sunday in the first leg and are close to cruising to Algeria.
Ghana opened the scoring account in the early stages of the second half through inform Daniel Afriyie Barnieh- who scored from the spot before youngster Suraj Seidu subsequently sealed the win with four minutes to full time.
Speaking after the game, experience Salisu Yusuf has labelled the penalty given against them as a harsh one but added they will work hard to turn things around in the second leg.
"The penalty was really a big blow to my team because there was a comosion there. The referee was a little bit harsh on that penalty and that got our players arguing."
"We tried to comeback, created some moments and we still fought and so I think is football so we will work hard to see how we can consider two goals in Nigeria."
The 2018 CHAN finalists will welcome Ghana to the Moshood Abiola Stadium for the return encounter on September 3, 2022 in Abuja.
