Togo head coach Patrice Neveu was involved in a tense confrontation with a journalist after losing his temper during a press conference to announce his squad for the upcoming double-header against Algeria.
The French coach became unhappy after a reporter questioned his targets as head coach of the Sparrowhawks.
Neveu explained that his immediate priority was to rebuild the team rather than focus only on qualifying for the next Africa Cup of Nations.
However, he appeared to take offence at the question and accused the journalist of trying to undermine his work, sparking a heated exchange in the room.
Tensions reportedly reached another level after the press conference when Neveu approached the journalist who had questioned his ambitions.
Staff members and other reporters quickly stepped in to separate the two and prevent the disagreement from turning into a physical confrontation.
The incident has put the spotlight on Neveu ahead of Togo's two meetings with Algeria, with the coach now facing attention over his conduct before his team takes to the pitch.
