The draw for 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations has been held and was staged at the Mohammed VI Technical Center in Rabat, capital of the host country Morocco.
Just like the last edition, the Ghana U-23 side were put in same Group A with Egypt- where the tourney was held in 2019 and managed to sail out of the group.
The Black Meteors have once again been paired in the first group together with host nation Morocco, Congo Brazaville and Guinea and will hope to make at least a top two finish to cruise into the next stage of the competition.
In Group B, reigning champions Egypt will lead that zone alongside Mali, Gabon and Niger.
The U-23 AFCON also serves as qualification to Olympic Games and the top three here will have the opportunity to partake in the next Olympic Games which will be held in Paris, France.
Ghana last played at the Olympics in 2004 in Athens, some nineteen years ago and will look to defy all odds and end the long drought to secure qualification this time around.
The tournament is expected to run from June 24 to July 8, 2023 in Morocco.
