Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi has warned his teammates to stay focused when they face Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in their UEFA Champions League Matchday 2 clash against Galatasaray on Tuesday evening.
Cubarsi praised Osimhen’s quality and described him as one of the best strikers in the world.
The young Spanish defender also recalled playing against the Nigerian forward a few seasons ago. He said Barcelona would need to be serious and focused to stop him.
“I played against him a few seasons ago, as I said before. I take it the same way; seriously.
He is one of the best strikers in the world, and we will have to be very focused,” Cubarsi said.
Osimhen is known for his speed, strength, heading ability and goal-scoring skills. These qualities make him a difficult player for defenders to handle.
The Nigerian international has built a strong reputation in European football because of his ability to score goals and trouble opposing defenders.
Cubarsi's comments show the respect Osimhen has earned from other players. His attacking ability could pose a big threat for Barcelona in the match.
