The Black Meteors of Ghana set off their Africa U-23 Cup of Nations campaign on a higher note after narrowly edging Ghana by 3-2 in their opening fixture at the Prince Moulaye Abdellah Stadium.

The first half was really a tough game especially for Ghana who had a jittery start and were even struggling to create opportunities. However, their Congolese counterparts looked slightly ahead but didn't look purposeful upfront.

In the second half, substitute Emmanuel Yeboah came from the bench to set up Ernest Nuamah for the opener on the 50th minute.

Subsequently, the Romanian-based striker pounced on a clanger to double their lead before scoring his second and Ghana's third from the spot.

The Congolese pulled two back in the last ten minutes to make the score 3-2.
