Ghana succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to the Tricolors of Mexico in an international friendly at the Bank of America Stadium in USA courtesy second half goals from Hirving Lozano and Uriel Antuna.
Ghana came close to snatching the lead on the 14th minute after Paintsil put through Antoine Semenyo who crossed but no one at far post to make a connection and rolled over for a restart.
Just two minutes on, Thomas Partey came so close to scoring with a towering header from Paintsil's delivery but missed the target by inches.
On the 29th minute, Raul Jimenez stole from Alidu Seidu and crossed to far post, Ambrosius trying heading out but fell on the path of Edson Alvarez wide for a restart. It finished goalless at half time.
In the second half, the Mexicans didn't really start explosively but came close with a chance after a decent pass was directed to Orbelin Pineda but a great intervention from Gideon Mensah rescued the situation.
Ghana given a free kick on the 54th minute. Kudus Mohammed's delivery in the box landed on Kingsley Schindler who sent a powerful hit but missed the target.
Free kick to Mexico, quickly taken to Hirvin Lozano- who cuts in swiftly and struck into the net to hand Mexico the lead.
Kudus Mohammed controlled a pass from the right, went past his marker and went in for a hit but wide for a goalkick after 69 minutes.
Mexico doubled their lead on the 72nd minute through Uriel Antuna who received a decent pass from Cesar Huerta to calmly plot into the net.
It ended 2-0 for Mexico after full time- who have now won all four matches played against the four-time African champions.
