Ghanaian champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies will cross swords with Nigerian heavyweights, Delta Queens on Wednesday afternoon at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in the final of the 2023 WAFU Zone B qualifiers in the Benin City- the capital of the Edo State in Nigeria.

Both teams have had a stellar run in the competition en route to this stage and only the winner will secure qualification to the third edition of the CAF Women's Champions League- of course the primary target of both teams heading into the final.

The 'Nanamma' girls were at the same stage last season but unfortunately suffered a 3-0 loss to another Nigerian side Bayelsa Queens to miss out painfully on the ultimate spot and will hope to surpass that stage this time.

Joe Adakwah's ladies have been outstanding in this year's competition having scored solid 13 goals and conceded 4 in the three matches they honoured so far- with Mary Amponsah having eight goals in the competition so far and undoubtedly is the top scorer at the moment.

They commenced off with a 4-2 win over Togolese champions Amis du Monde, topped it up subsequently with a 3-1 victory over Atletico de Abidjan before proceeding to the semi final to mamarlize Beninese side Sam Nelly by an emphatic 6-1 to book a final spot.

On the opposition end, Delta Queens, the host also started their campaign on a higher note with a 3-0 triumph over Burkinabe side USFA.

They brushed aside Sam Nelly by 2-0 before taking out Atletico FC in an interesting five-goal thriller to cruise into the last two and are definitely very buoyant and confident to clinch ultimate.
