Ashanti Regional Circles Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Alex Manu, has expressed strong confidence that the Porcupine Warriors will eliminate Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club from the CAF Confederation Cup.
Speaking in an interview with journalist Shaban Mohammed, Manu said the team’s preparation and determination give them every reason to believe they can progress to the next round of the competition.
“We will see Wydad AC off in the Confederation Cup,” Manu declared.
“But we need every supporter in the Accra Stadium on Sunday. The fans should expect a win. We’ve got everything needed to boot them out.”
Kotoko are seeking to reach the group stage of the Confederation Cup for the first time since 2019, with the Ghanaian side banking on home advantage in Accra to overturn recent continental disappointments.
The Porcupine Warriors are expected to host the first leg before travelling to Casablanca for the return fixture later this month.
