Mali national team head coach, Tom Saintfiet has made their ambitions clear ahead of the game against Ghana and added they are coming to win and nothing else despite admitting it will be a difficult game.

After a sloppy start to the campaign, the Eagles humbled Comoros by an emphatic 3-0 in the last round of matches at the Stade Municipal in Berkane.

The victory was sealed thanks to goals from Nene Dorgeles in the 28th minute coupled with other two from Kamory Doumbia and Lassana Coulibaly.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Belgian gaffer acknowledged the Black Stars are the most strongest team in the group but stated they are hoping to beat them and qualify to make history.

"Ghana is the best team in our group. They are 4 points ahead of us, but we are here to make history and win here," he said.

"We will make everything possible to qualify for the World Cup," he added.

The game is slated for 19:00GMT (7:00pm) on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.
