The CAF Champions League runners-up were eliminated following a frustrating 4-1 defeat to Juventus on Sunday that exposed lapses in concentration, missed opportunities, and a lack of cutting edge in the dying embers.
Despite carrying the hopes of North African football, Wydad looked out of sorts on the world stage, struggling to impose their rhythm against a well-drilled Juventus side.
The early exit marks a painful chapter for Wydad, who have suffered back-to-back defeats with only one match left against Al Ain on Thursday.
