Young Africans coach Angel Gamondi is underlining the imperative need for a victory in their upcoming 2023/24 CAF Champions League encounter against Medeama in Kumasi.
Heading into the match day three fixture, the Tanzanian club is determined to secure their first win in Group D, having faced a defeat and a draw in their initial two games.
Young Africans began their Group D campaign with a challenging 3-0 defeat against Belouizdad in an away match. Following this setback, they managed to salvage a 1-1 draw at home against Al Ahly.
Coach Gamondi, acknowledging the initial disappointments, is resolute in his quest to reverse the trend and secure a crucial win against Medeama.
Addressing the media in anticipation of the game, the Argentinian coach expressed confidence in his team's preparations and underscored the significance of the upcoming clash.
“We are preparing very well. We come here with the determination to win. For us, it’s a must-win game.
"We made some mistakes in our previous games, but we are determined to win tomorrow. We are well prepared—mentally and physically.
"Not only us, but Medeama too. We are in the same group with two big teams, and we know what they can do. For us, it’s a must-win, and we will do our best.”
