Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam have handed promotion to talented attacking midfielder Levi Acheampong after inking a professional contract with the club.
Acheampong, who was born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam, signed a three-year contract to keep him at the Dutch powerhouse until the summer of 2027.
After signing the professional contract, the 16-year-old has received a promotion to the Ajax senior team ahead of the 2024–25 season's campaign.
Ajax coach Francesco Farioli has included the exciting teenager in his squad list for the upcoming season following his explosive performances on the Ajax U17 and U18 teams.
The club's director of football, Marijn Beuker, expressed his delight with the long-term contract of Acheampong, who is regarded as one of the next big things in football.
"Levi is a creative and agile player with a great sense of space. He also has a fantastic mindset and drive to improve. We therefore have every confidence in a bright future for him at Ajax." Marijn Beuker told the club's official website.
Acheampong is eligible to play for Ghana in the future despite representing the Netherlands at the U15 and U16 levels.
