The promising teenager of Ghanaian heritage has completed his loan switch to the German third-tier outfit in this current transfer window
German-born Ghanaian budding midfielder Kofi Amoako has joined German 3.Liga side VfL Osnabrück on a season-long loan deal from top-flight outfit VfL Wolfsburg.
The 19-year-old midfield enforcer is joining the Stadion an der Bremer Brücke campaigners in order to continue with his development as a rising star in the German lower division contest.
In an excerpt of official announcement over the loan deal, the Osnabruck-based club have said via their club's official website: "Kofi Amoako is moving from VfL Wolfsburg to VfL Osnabrück on loan. The current DFB U19 national player can play in both midfield and central defense."
Amoako said this right after appending his signature to the deal: "I am grateful to VfL Wolfsburg for the opportunity to develop further in Osnabrück and take the next step. My goal is to get as much playing time as possible. I am responsible for this myself with my performance in games and training. This applies from the first training session tomorrow."
Sporting director Philipp Kaufmann added: "We have been following Kofi closely since the beginning of the year. After good discussions with the player and VfL Wolfsburg, we aimed for a loan early on. Due to the strong performances and the personnel situation in Wolfsburg's pre-season, however, we had to be patient in order to finalize this transfer. Kofi is a highly talented player with strong positioning in space, who was trained in the central positions in midfield and in the last line. Due to his robust physique and height, he has good tackling strength to hold his own in the 3rd division."
Given his Ghanaian heritage, Amoako still remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Germany U17, U18 & U19 national youth teams.
