Ghana's Kudus Mohammed has received Puskas award nomination for his goal against Freiburg last season in the upcoming 2024 FIFA Awards ceremony to be held early next year.
The Hammers destroyed the German side by an emphatic 5-0 last season to complete a (6-1) on aggregate win in round 16 of the UEFA Europa League last season.
Kudus during the game, lit up the London Stadium with the first of his double in the game having unstoppably picked up possession 70 yards from goal, sprinted up to the other end - seeing off a pool of defenders in the process - and slotted past goalkeeper Noah Atubolu to find the back of the net.
His spectacular solo goal has been recognized by the game's biggest governing body FIFA - whose technical study team have added it to the best goals scored last season.
Kudus Mohammed will have to compete for the Puskas against players like Nigeria's Paul Onuachu, Federico Dimarco, Alejandro Garnacho and others.
His goal serged on to be adjudged as West Ham best goal and was also picked as the best in the UEFA Europa League last season.
