Inaki Williams was a notable exclusion from Otto Addo's 26-man squad for Ghana's upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars are set to face Group I torchbearer's Mali and Central African Republic in their qualifier fixtures for the 2026 tournament in USA, Mexico and Canada.

Otto Addo's side have secured one win (1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi), and one defeat (1-0 loss to Comoros in Moroni), but need to win their upcoming two games to boost their chances of securing qualification and being top seeds in the 2026 tournament.

Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams will now miss the two crucial games after undergoing a procedure to address discomfort from a troublesome scar on his left foot, as confirmed by his club.

There is also no place for Daniel Amartey, Denis Odoi, Iddrisu Baba Mohammed, Joseph Paintsil, Majeed Ashimeru, and Nathaniel Adjei, as all players will miss out due to injury.

Ghana will play as guests to Mali on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, kick-off slated for 19:00 GMT.

The Black Stars will host the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.
