Former Leicester City FC defender Conor Coady believes Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has the quality to succeed in the English Premier League despite the Foxes’ disappointing campaign.

The Black Stars forward was unable to prevent Leicester from suffering another relegation, as the former Premier League champions dropped to League One following a difficult season.

Despite the club’s struggles, Issahaku remained one of Leicester’s standout performers, contributing 16 goals in the English Championship and consistently providing an attacking spark whenever available.

The Ghana international had previously played a key role in Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League under former Enzo Maresca, but his latest campaign was heavily disrupted by an anterior cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him for much of the season.

With several top-flight clubs reportedly monitoring his situation, Coady is convinced the talented winger has what it takes to excel at the highest level.

“Fatawu at Leicester,” Coady said on The Overlap when asked about Championship players capable of thriving in the Premier League.

“I know Leicester have gone down and I know he’s had a bad second half of the season, but I played with Abdul and he’s a very good player on his day. I know he was linked with certain clubs previously, so I would put him in that bracket,” he added.

Issahaku is currently focused on preparations with Ghana ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America before making a decision on his long-term future at Leicester City.
