Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has strongly lauded Abdul Fatawu Issahaku's unmatched performance last night in their emphatic 5-0 victory over Southampton in the English Championship.
The 20-year-old netted a hatrick and also registered an assist; thus four-goal involvements to earn all three points for his side to maintain top-spot.
The versatile forward made the starting line up once again and was really impressive and unplayable right from onset having operated very well from the right flanks and spent 87 minutes on the pitch before making way for Kasey McAteer
He netted three goals and also provided an assist, with his opener coming on the 25th minute. He subsequently doubled the lead on the 75th minute before sealing his hatrick six minutes later.
He assisted Jamie Vardy for their remaining two, with Nigerian international Wilfried Ndidi also getting on the scoresheet.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has now extended his goal-involvements to 18; having netted 6 and registered 12 assists in the league and is definitely eyeing for more going forward.
Speaking after the game, the Italian tactician described Fatawu Issahaku as fantastic on the back of that explosive display but still think they weren't at their best in the game
"His performance was fantastic,” the Italian said on Fatawu. “But I think all the team was very good. We would like to score goals always, but the opponent is always there. We took our chances tonight,"
“I don’t think it was our best performance. I think we had some games in which we played better than tonight, but in the end, most of the time people will judge the result and 5-0 but we analyse the complete performance.”
Leicester City are currently leading the table with 94 points and will travel to Preston North End in match-day 45.
