Ghana international Salis Abdul Samed is expected to undergo a scan on Monday, August 28, 2023 to determine the severity of an ankle injury.

The RC Lens defensive midfielder suffered a sprained ankle in their 3-1 away defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.

The 23-year-old was withdrawn after playing the first 45 minutes of the game at the Parc des Princes over the weekend. He was replaced by Stijn Spierings.

Manager of RC Lens Franck Haise revealed that the former Clermont FL midfielder sustained an ankle injury and will undergo a scan to know the extent of the injury.

 "For him [Salis Abdul Samed], there is has a sprain yes. I don't know the gravity yet, but I know it comes from the action on the first base,” Haise said in an interview monitored by Kickgh.com

Samed Salis is on the verge of missing RC Lens' next Ligue 1 game against AS Monaco on September 2 and Ghana's final game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Central African Republic on September 7 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Samed Salis has featured in all the three Ligue 1 matches for RC Lens this season so far.
