Former Ghana midfielder, Afriyie Acquah has joined Nepal top-flight side FC Chitwan, signing an 18-month contract.

The 31-year-old arrives having spent the last month as a free agent following his exit from Iraqi club Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in July this year.

Acquah has turned out for 9 foreign teams over the years and has rarely stayed long at one club.

He was a regular feature in Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor, where he was appointed as the deputy captain of the side and given his favourite number 6 jersey during his two-year stay.

The strong-willed tenacious player featured in 65 matches across all competitions for Yeni, notching four goals and registering three assists.

He has 42 international caps to his name for Ghana, marking his debut on March 1, 2012, during an international friendly game against Chile.

Acquah has scored just one international goal during the Black Stars 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying triumph against Malawi.
