The teenager of Ghanaian parentage has penned a heart-moving farewell to his boyhood club after spending more than a decade with them in the Dutch football contests

Dutch-born Ghanaian youngster Gabriel Misehouy has confirmed his departure from Dutch giants Ajax, with a 12-year spell brought to an end this summer.

The 18-year-old promising teenager, who was once courted by English heavyweights Manchester City, failed to extend his contract with the Amsterdam-based club following the expiration of his deal ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

With over 70 appearances with the reserve sides of Ajax, the Ghanaian starlet took to Instagram via Ajax Showtime to bid his heart-warming farewell to his former club.

"After twelve years I am leaving Ajax. It was a difficult decision, but difficult decisions are part of life. I want to thank all the trainers, players and staff members who played a role in my development as a player and a person. I am grateful for all the beautiful memories I have been able to make in all those years. I came here as a little boy and left as a young man.''

''This is not the ending I had imagined. But everything goes according to his (God, ed.) plan, not mine', the eighteen-year-old midfielder continues. 'Despite everything, I want to thank my family and the people who support me, I will do my utmost to make you proud. See you soon.."

Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains qualified to represent Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Netherlands U16, U17 & U18 national youth teams.
