Despite an early lead, courtesy of Nik Omladič, Koper were unable to withstand Maribor's pressure, succumbing to goals from Jakupović, Hilal Soudani, and Josip Iličić's 86th minute penalty to add further gloss to the scoreline.
Ankrah put on a masterclass in attacking football through which he notched his goal in the 28th minute for Koper before his teammate Luka Vešner Tičić scored the third to settle for a disappointing 3-3 draw.
