Albanian top-flight league outfit FK Bylis has announced the acquisition of Dreams FC midfielder Ofori McCarthy in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Ghana U20 star signed a four-year deal with Bylis that will run until the summer of 2028 after passing a mandatory medical examination earlier this week.
The 19-year-old transformative midfielder, who once spent a season-long loan spell at Eleven Wonders, made 21 appearances for Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League.
McCarthy played an instrumental role in Dreams FC's last season historic CAF Confederation Cup campaign which they reached at the semis in their maiden campaign.
A statement from the club confirmed the signing of Ofori via a social media statement on Thursday.
“It’s official! Ghana's U-20 player wears red and white...FK Bylis Mallakastër formalizes the deal and introduces the talented player from Ghana, McCarthy Ofori, born on March 3, 2005 (19 years old).”
“He will wear the red and white shirt for the next 4 years, as our club has reached an agreement with Ghanaian Super League team Dreams FC.”
“Ofori, who plays as a defender and midfielder (no. 6), also represents Ghana’s U-20 team, where he has played 6 matches.”
“The club welcomes the 19-year-old Ghanaian McCarthy Ofori to our big family and looks forward to his contributions this season in the red-and-white colors.”
McCarthy was a member of the Black Satellites team that won the 2023 African Games in Ghana.
