French-born Ghanaian defender, Alexander Djiku has finally cut his holidays short to join his new club Fenerbahçe SK in Russia for preseason ahead of the new football season.
The 28-year-old center-back, who garnered interest from multiple clubs during the summer transfer window, shunned all to join the Turkish giants after successfully undergoing his medical examinations.
He put pen to paper afterwards to ink a three-year contract with the Yellow Canaries, with an additional year renewal option
The bulky defender played a crucial role in helping Strasbourg avoid relegation last season, and spent a total of four years with the French club.
Djiku, finally has joined the team's preparations towards the 2023/24 campaign with gym works as he definitely hopes to become a mainstay subsequently especially when the season begins.
He wasn't in action when they lost 1-3 to Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade in a friendly but will look to play a part in the other matches coming up.
Fenerbahçe SK are still on the lookout for some quality additions in order to compete current Turkey champions Galatasaray for the league title next season.
