Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has taken to social media to share a congratulatory message to his Fenerbahce teammates after they beat high flying Slovak giants Spartak Trnava 2-1 in the matchday 2 of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) on Thursday night.
After winning their first match against Nordsjælland, the Yellow Canaries continued their superb form as they secured their second win in the European competition.
Djiku, 28, helped power the 19-time Turkish Süper Lig champions after being brought on in the 63rd minute.
"Better late than never! Congratulations to the whole team and the fans for making the trip," Djiku punched on X.
Fenerbahce two goals were scored by Norwegian born Gambian forward Joshua Kojo King in the 70th and 81st minutes respectively.
Spartak Trnava Ghanaian midfielder, Kelvin Ofori drilled an unstoppable tap into the Fenerbache sticks after refilling home from Jayden Oosterwolde mistake in the 88th minute as they fled downward to rock bottom of Group H.
Djiku, who has been handed a call-up in the Black Stars team for the international friendlies against USA and Mexico next week, and his Yellow Canaries side are in command as they trek gallavantly on the path to qualifying for the knockout stage with his Yellow Canaries side.
