Ghanaian defender, Alexander Djiku has revealed names of some individuals that played a part in his move to Fenerbahçe SK including legendary Stephen Appiah.
The 29-year-old joined the Yellow Canaries on a three year deal on a free transfer after ending his long stay with French side RC Strasbourg.
He's been outstanding since the start of the season and has featured in eight matches so far with a goal to his belt since arriving at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
In an interview, the bulky defender stated he had lots of offers and wanted a new challenge outside France and added former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and Mitchy Batshuayi played a part in the move.
"Since I had my transfer fee in hand, there were many offers from the big leagues of Europe. I did not want to stay in France because I was looking for a new competition. One of the biggest reasons for me to come to Fenerbahçe was Michy Batshuayi. I talked to him before coming and I came to Fenerbahçe. "He insisted me very much to come."
"I had the opportunity to talk to Appiah. He gave me advice. He is a legendary player", he told Tivibu Sports.
Alexander Djiku just recently has sustained an injury and missed out in their recent friendlies against North American giants Mexico and USA.
