Somewhere last week, your trusted sports hub Kickgh.com broke Alidu Seidu's sensational switch from FC Clermont Foot to Stade Rennais in the local media and added he will join his new club after the ongoing 2023 AFCON in Cote D'Ivoire.
According to reports from a reliable source, the fee involved was €11 million plus bonuses and that happens to be the fourth bid the Reds submitted, after having their first three all rejected by the Lancers.
They first submitted an offer of €8m which was turned down before their subsequent €9.5m and €10.5m were all also rejected but finally had their fourth approach accepted.
Speculations has it that, after both teams had reached an agreement, Alidu already, had agreed personal terms with the Red and Blacks and everything will be made official very soon as he is set to return after a disappointing campaign in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
He should have been unveiled by the Red and Blacks right after the negotiations yielded fruition but had to delay a bit due to the AFCON but Ghana's early exit means official announcement is very imminent.
Ahead of his grand unveiling, Alidu Seidu has left the shores of the country on the early hours of today to his base France, alongside his mother who will be right beside him for the launch which is expected to be done in the next few days.
The 23-year-old bulky defender has been outstanding this season, having made 14 appearances in the Ligue 1 so far with an assist to his belt.
