Ghanaian youngster Andrews Appiah recorded his first goal contribution in European football after providing an assist in FK Auda’s 4-1 home victory over Romanian side FCSB in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round.
The 18-year-old came off the bench to make an instant impact, setting up one of Auda’s goals as the Latvian side sealed an impressive victory.
The assist caps a remarkable start to life in Europe for the former Black Starlets forward, who signed his first professional contract with FK Auda earlier this month.
Just last week, Appiah made his European debut, and he has now followed it up with his maiden goal involvement on the continental stage.
His rapid rise has been one of the standout stories of the season. Only a few months ago, the talented attacker was playing in Ghana’s Division One League before earning his move to Latvia.
Appiah will now be hoping to build on his bright start as he continues his development in Europe and fights for a regular place in Auda’s first team.
