English-born Ghanaian international Andy Yiadom is on the verge of leaving English League 1 side Reading with his contract set to expire at the end of the ongoing campaign

The versatile full-back joined the Biscuitmen in the summer of 2018 on a year deal before subsequently earning an extension and was named the club's captain for sometime now

Due to series of injuries, Andy made only 14 appearances this season without any goal-contribution

Reports rumbling are that Yiadom who has few months left in his contract hasn't been offered any extension yet and is set to leave, the player's representative confirmed to Africafoot;

"The situation is what it is: there have been no discussions or offers at the moment, and if the situation continues, Andy (Yiadom) will absolutely have to leave.

"It will be an emotional departure, because he loves the club, which has been incredibly generous to him and whose supporters have been incredible. And now? We're not settled yet, we want to find him a contract that lives up to expectations, because he still has a lot to offer."

The 33-year-old made over 200 appearances for Reading in his seven-year stay and netted four goals within that period

Andy Yiadom played 26 matches for the Ghana senior men national team after his debut in 2017 and was part of the squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon
