The German elite division hopefuls are keen to reinforce their forward line options with the Ghana-target in the summer should they finally secured top-flight competition next term
Bundesliga-bound FC Köln are reportedly pushing to sign Ghanaian striker Ragnar Ache from 2. Bundesliga side FC Kaiserslautern ahead of the start of the new football season.
The 26-year-old, who is keen on a top-flight football next term, could link up with the RheinEnergieSTADION outfit as they look forward to securing qualification for the top division contest for the 2025-26 campaign.
Per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, FC Köln have opened talks with FC Kaiserslautern over Ache's transfer move as they push to land him in the summer.
lt is understood that the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt man has a release clause in his current contract, with a transfer fee around €4–5 million enough to see him joining his suitors if tabled for his signature in the upcoming window.
His contract with FC Kaiserslautern will expire in 2026 and his admirers must cough up the above-mentioned figures if they are to prise him away from his current employers next season.
Ache has so far netted 18 goals and assisted 1 in 31 games for FCK across all competitions in this current 2024-25 football campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still qualifies to switch allegiance and represent Ghana at the international level despite featuring for the Germany U21 national youth team.
