Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has written his name in the history books after being named Premier League Player of the Month for February.

The 26-year-old attacker earned the honour following an impressive run for the Cityzens, where he has quickly made his mark since completing a £64 million transfer from AFC Bournemouth during the January window.

Semenyo, after claiming this honour, becomes only the third Ghanaian to achieve this, joining former Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah, who won it twice in 1995, and Andre Ayew, who claimed the prize during his time with Swansea City in 2015.

Semenyo’s recognition also ends an 11-year long wait for a Ghanaian player to win the monthly award in the English topflight.

The Ghanaian international was outstanding throughout February, scoring three goals and providing one assist in five league matches to help the Sky Blues maintain an unbeaten run.

The versatile forward continues to enjoy a remarkable campaign, having already scored 15 goals, making the Ghanaian with the most goals in a single campaign, registering four assists in 28 appearances.
