Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City FC, has praised Antoine Semenyo after the Ghanaian forward was named Premier League Player of the Month for February.
The Black Stars attacker earned the accolade following an outstanding run of form, scoring three goals and providing one assist in five Premier League matches during the month.
Since joining Manchester City FC from AFC Bournemouth in the winter transfer window, Semenyo has quickly established himself as an important player in Guardiola’s side as they chase the league title.
Speaking ahead of City’s clash with West Ham United FC, Guardiola expressed his delight at the striker’s achievement.
“I’m so happy for him,” Guardiola said. “He’s an incredible guy. He deserves it.”
Semenyo also shared his excitement after receiving the award, thanking his teammates for helping him settle quickly at the club.
“This is a brilliant moment for me. To win the Premier League Player of the Month so soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget,” he said.
“It’s been an amazing start to life at this club. I’m learning so much every day and I already feel like a better player. Everyone welcomed me from day one, which has allowed me to focus on performing on the pitch.”
