Antoine Semenyo has drawn level with Chelsea legend Michael Essien on the list of Ghana's top Premier League scorers after firing AFC Bournemouth to a crucial 1-0 victory over Fulham on Monday night.
The 25-year-old struck just 53 seconds into the match at the Vitality Stadium, ending Bournemouth’s six-game winless run with a composed, low-driven finish—his eighth Premier League goal of the season and 17th overall since joining from Bristol City.
That tally places Semenyo joint-fifth among Ghana’s all-time top scorers in the English top flight, matching Essien’s total. He now trails only André Ayew (21 goals), Jeffrey Schlupp (22), Tony Yeboah (24), and Jordan Ayew (41) on the list.
The early goal also marked a personal milestone, equalling Semenyo’s best-ever Premier League scoring season with four matches still to play.
Bournemouth’s victory moved them up to eighth in the table, just six points behind seventh-placed Aston Villa, as the Cherries continue their push for European qualification.
Semenyo will be aiming to add to his impressive tally when Bournemouth travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.
