Former Black Stars striker Matthew Amoah has challenged the reasoning behind Antoine Semenyo joining Tottenham Hotspur, stating firmly that such a transfer would not help the player.
The 25-year-old has been in explosive form this season, notching nine goals and firing five assists, featuring in 31 games across all competitions.
Semenyo's performance has prompted most top European side's like Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester United, Napoli and Newcastle to table an offer for the Ghanaian.
However, Amoah claimed Tottenham is not the ideal destination for Semenyo, going ahead to warn him not to be in haste to rush out of Bournemouth as he is currently in the right team.
“With all due respect to Tottenham, if this is the only offer that comes to Semenyo this summer, then he should stay at Bournemouth,” Amoah told Africa Foot.
"“He’s doing his job very well at a club that also appreciates his work and efforts, with fans singing his name day in and day out.
“Bournemouth are currently a better team on the pitch than Tottenham and seem more stable with a very good coach in Andoni Iraola. So, joining a club that is far behind would be a demotion that makes no footballing sense."
