Jamie Redknapp, a well-known former Premier League player, has expressed his admiration for AFC Bournemouth's forward, Antoine Semenyo, calling him a "star."
Redknapp's praise follows Semenyo's strong showing in Bournemouth's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at their home stadium, the Vitality Stadium, on Sunday.
Redknapp commended Semenyo, who plays for Ghana's national team, for his impressive performance in the match.
“Bournemouth were suddenly the better team. And In Semenyo, at the right wing, he is an absolute star,” Redknapp, who began his career at Bournemouth as a teenager in 1989, before moving to Liverpool after featuring 13 times for the Cherries said on Sky Sports.
The Ghanaian international scored 10 Premier League goals since completing a €10.3m switch from Bristol City to Bournemouth in 2023, with Redknapp indicating it’s time for the Cherries to cash in on the Ghanaian.
“I just think, and I don’t want to be selling Bournemouth’s players but you’ve got few days to that window; I think he cost £10m from Bristol City. What a great signing he was.”
“He is worth a fortune. He is such an elegant, graceful, powerful, player. He is got everything, that young man,” he added.
