Arsenal remain in the hunt for a new forward and have expressed interest in PSV Eindhoven's Dutch-born Ghanaian Cody Gakpo, Kickgh.com can exclusively reveal.
The Gunners have enquired about the availability of Gakpo and are optimistic of bringing him to the Emirates Stadium , but PSV Eindhoven currently have no plans to allow the 23-year-old to leave Philips Stadion.
PSV has issued a stern warning to the various clubs who wish to sign their starman to shell out a sum of not less than €40 million.
Gakpo is a product of the PSV youth academy, Gakpo has been a top breakout star for the Dutch outfit since breaking into the first-team setup a few years ago. To date, he has made 137 appearances in all competitions, racking up 43 goals and 35 assists.
He enjoyed a prolific campaign last season, finishing with 21 goals and 15 assists and has already been involved in three goals in three games this term.
