Football Insider sources have revealed that Aston Villa is planning to acquire Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu during the summer transfer window.

 

 

Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Leicester City, are also interested in the 23-year-old player, who may be available for £25 million.

Southampton is bracing themselves for interest in Salisu at the end of the season.

The centre-back, who joined St Mary's from Real Valladolid in 2020, has a contract that runs until 2024. This season, Salisu has played in 21 league game for Southampton averaging 5.4 clearances per game, as well as 2.5 aerial duel wins and 2.3 tackles, highlighting his defensive dominance and provided one assist.

Additionally, he played for Ghana in the World Cup in Qatar, scoring his second goal for the national team and making three appearances.
